The safety and security of the community is our top priority and all available resources are being deployed. As of 1:30 p.m., approximately 15,000 evacuations notifications have been sent. We have confirmation of two structures lost. Evacuation boundaries are west of El Fuerte Road, south of Palomar Airport Road, north of Aviara Parkway and west to the coast. Information on school evacuations is available at www.carlsbadusd.k12.ca.us

A temporary evacuation point is currently set up at Plaza El Camino Real southwest parking lot.

The City of Carlsbad's Dove Library, Aviara Community Park and Alga Norte Community Park are closed.

A brush fire is currently burning in Carlsbad around the area of Poinsettia Lane and Alicante. Mandatory evacuations are in progress. Please listen to all police instructions regarding evacuations and traffic. Calavera Hills Community Center, 2997 Glasgow, is being opened as a shelter location. Pets are welcome. Aviara Oaks Elementary and Middle schools are being evacuated to Brighton Gardens, 2588 El Camino Real. Parent should report there to meet students. Westfield Plaza Camino Real is serving as a temporary evacuation point for people and animals.
